G Suite for Education
A solution built for teachers and students
G Suite for Education is a free integrated communication and collaboration service from Google that is built for teachers and students. G Suite for Education consists of highly customizable versions of several Google Apps (Web applications) which provide similar functionality to traditional office suites.
Once certified by Google as an education institution and registered with a domain name, schools have access to the full power of Google Apps, including storage space for all users and 24/7 support, at no cost. Unlike the public versions of G Suite, the apps in G Suite for Education have no ads, and the data is owned entirely by the school. Google will not sell your data to third parties and will not share personal information unless required to do so by law.
G Suite for Education makes it possible for students to work together in a digital environment on assignments and projects via the web, all within a secure “closed system” online environment. It also provides an online storage space for files that eliminates the need for flash drives between home and school, and allows for electronic submission of assignments directly to the classroom teacher.
Using an intuitive backend management tool, school administrators have complete control over the core Google Apps including Gmail, Hangouts, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Groups, News, Play, Sites, and Vault. Schools also have access to the Google Apps Marketplace, an app store for G Suite users. It contains various third party apps, both free and paid, which can be installed to customize the G Suite for Education experience for the user.
